Whitman Hanson Kingston Youth Hockey

Welcome to the official website of the Whitman, Hanson, Kingston Hawks.

The WHK Organization strives to teach the children of the South Shore not only the skills development needed for the game of hockey but also self-confidence, goal setting, self-esteem and team work through playing the sport.

All of our levels are played September through March (except Midget) and include practices, on-ice skill sessions, games and discounted power skating access.

Registration is still open. If you have any questions please reach out to any member of the board.

Beginner Hockey

Whitman-Hanson-Kingston Youth Hockey

Beginner Hockey Program

Beginner Hockey - next session will begin Saturday, October 7 @ 6:10 P.M. in the Hobomock Arena in Pembroke.

Imagine your child's delight each week when he/she is introduced to the sport of ice hockey. This is a fun program that allows your child to begin skating drills using a stick and puck. This program has many of the same objectives as the Learn-to-Skate program, only applied in a hockey environment. This program is for children who have had some skating experience but may not be ready or old enough for the Mite Hockey program.  Players must be fully outfitted in hockey equipment and will be supplied with a Beginner Hockey WHK Hawks jersey which must be worn each week for entrance onto the ice surface. If you need a hockey stick, we do have a limited supply of straight blade hockey sticks that can be supplied to players free of charge.

We will run 3 seven week sessions. Cost per session is $125.

Register for this program by clicking Register at top of this page or under the Registration column on left hand side of the menu.

If you are registering your child and would like to help coach we are always looking for volunteers. This is the best time to get involved!!!

See link below if you have any questions, comments or would like to volunteer.

South Shore Conference Rule 19

The South Shore Conference’s Zero Tolerance Rule (Rule 19) is shown below.  The South Shore Conference requires us to send this notice to all participants annually.
SSC Rule 19
The member towns and coach of each team are responsible for the behavior of the spectators from their town.  If the spectators get unruly or abusive during a game, it is up to the discretion of the referee to stop the game and determine who is at fault.  If it can be determined who or what town is at fault, they shall forfeit the game.  If it cannot be determined who is at fault or it is unsafe to continue the game, it will be stopped and the Discipline Committee will make a decision.
1.  The South Shore Conference will establish a Discipline Committee to investigate and conduct a hearing if appropriate, concerning any major incident involving a spectator or parent.  An officer of the South Shore Conference will chair the Discipline Committee.  The Discipline Committee will be comprised of three members of the Executive Board and two Program Directors on a rotating monthly basis.
2.  A major incident shall be defined as, but may not be limited to, the use of obscene or vulgar language; verbal or physical abuse; taunting of players, coaches or officials; and throwing of objects in the viewing area, team benches, ice surface, etc.
3.  When a major incident on ice rink property used by the South Shore Conference involving a parent or spectator is brought to the attention of the South Shore Conference Executive Board by rink officials, ice officials (referee or time keepers), incident reports or other programs, the affected programs will be notified by the South Shore Conference President or designee.
4.  The program(s) will then have 48 hours to respond with a recommendation for discipline to the chairperson of the Discipline Committee.  The program will identify everyone involved.  If the program’s action is deemed acceptable, no further action shall be taken.  If the chairperson of the Discipline Committee deems the program’s recommendation unacceptable and/or inadequate, the individuals involved will immediately be suspended from all South Shore Conference activities until the incident is resolved.  The Discipline Committee shall convene to investigate the incident and to hold a hearing within one week.  All parties involved in the major incident shall attend the discipline hearing.
5.  Annually prior to the start of the hockey season, each program will be responsible for sending written or electronic notice to the membership advising them of RULE #19, a copy of the letter will be submitted to the South Shore Conference President.
